Zen’s professional journey in the work of diversity and inclusion has been profoundly shaped by the mentorship of our founder, Alden Habacon. This direct guidance has been instrumental in Zen’s growth as an inclusive leader, skilled workshop facilitator, and executive coach. He is a certified Executive Coach (CPCC) trained in Co-Active (CTI) model and trauma-informed practice. He works extensively with mid- to senior-level managers and executives on advancing their inclusive leadership.

In addition, Zen brings over 2 decades of professional leadership experience in marketing, event production, and entrepreneurship. He has led and managed national marketing campaigns for some of Canada’s top brands, combining strategic vision with hands-on execution. Zen’s commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion is deeply rooted in both his lived experience and his advocacy for Asian Canadian representation in media and the arts. He previously served as a Board Trustee for Vancouver’s Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, helping to promote cultural diversity and community belonging.

In addition to his leadership role at Inclusive Excellence, Zen is a proud father of two young children—and a spirited miniature Australian shepherd who keeps the whole family on their toes.
